Fairie Festival at Spoutwood Farms
Friday, May 1, 2009 thru May 3
4255 Pierceville Road
Glen Rock, PA 17327
The May Day Fairie Festival is the brainchild of Rob and Lucy Wood, owners of Spoutwood Farm, an organic farm in the Community Supported Agriculture movement. It began as a party for about 100 friends, and was last year celebrated by 16,000 “friends” of the little people from the area and as far away as Texas. Previously a one-day festival, a second and third were added as a response to the festival’s rising popularity.
The festival will celebrate the beginning of spring and all of the nature spirits return to the warm world with 70 arts and crafts vendors (mostly featuring handmade art inspired by the little people), performances by musicians and dancers, magicians, participatory maypole dancing accompanied by bagpipes and other music, fairie craft activities such as fairie wand and garland making (involves a small fee), food vendors, fairie and other nature spirit environments to explore, a Nature Place offering a place for environmental, health, animal interest and other groups to share their vision, , fairie tea parties, guest appearances by the Green Man, Sweet Pea, Posie and others.

Rites of Spring 2009
Wednesday, May 20, 2009 thru May 25
We gather once again to celebrate the sacred Earth
and the turning of the seasons
as the maples and birches grow green in the Berkshire Hills, the streams rush full down the mountainside
and our hearts fill with
the promise of new beginnings.
Together we will weave the web of community
spanning many generations, traditions and life-styles
around a shared core of deeply-held Earth spirituality.
The sacred fire will burn
as the drums echo the rhythms of life
and the dancers join the sparks flying toward the darkened sky.
Stimulating conversations will continue from one day to the next and children's laughter will sparkle in the wooded hills. Lasting friendships will form and grow
as we come together
in our learning, our music, our ritual
and our joy.

The Sacred dynamic fire circle experience is a co-creative, all-night, eclectic spiritual ritual in which a safe art and sharing space is developed around a fire.
From midnight until dawn, energy and awareness are raised through drumming, dancing, singing, chanting and other forms of expression. A balance of listening, serving and expressing ourselves supports us in letting down our many
layers of protection, until a simple, free-flowing embodied
divinity rises within us. This is about reclaiming our personal freedom, our intimacy, and our right to express
life to the fullest.
